Rules - Qualifications

  1. Eligibility.  Classes are open to all regular and reserve forces personnel, including the Police Forces and their dependents and members of the Army, RAF and RN/RM Saddle Clubs.  Serving competitors are to jump in No. 2 dress or equivalent.  Civilians must be appropriately dressed  ALL Members of the BTA (British Tent Pegging Association) are eligible for the Skill At Arms Classes.
  2. Paying of Compliments.  Compliments are only to be paid to the Judges during Class C.
  3. Safety of Competitors & Horses.  Commanding Officers, Riding Masters and Instructors are responsible for ensuring that horse and rider combinations are safe and capable of competing within the class that they have been entered.  The Ground Jury reserves the right to ask a competitor to leave the arena if they consider that it is in the best interest of the horse and rider.
  4. Collecting Ring Safety.  A Collecting Ring Steward will control the collecting ring and riders are only to enter the collecting ring when they have 10 competitors before they are to compete.  Any other rider entering the collecting ring may be asked to leave. No horse may be held within the collecting arena and riders are to keep moving around and are not to use the collecting ring as a viewing area. Riders may be asked to enter the arena before the previous competitor has completed their round and should follow the instruction of the Collecting Ring Steward and avoid the other competitor. Any horse and rider combination that is not ready to compete at the declared time, will forfeit their opportunity to compete, except where assistance from a verterinary officer or a farrier is being sought.
  5. Passport and Vaccination. In accordance with BSJA and DEFRA Regulations, all horses are to have a passport, whgich could be examined by a veterinary officer on the day of the show. All horses are to be vaccinated against Equine Influenza within a 12-month period of the date of the show in accordance with BSJA RTegulations. Any horse found to be in breach of any of these regulations may be refused entry to the showground.
  6. All privately owned horses are to be insured to cover 3rd person liability. A copy of this cover must be brought to the show.
  7. The organisers of this show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effectiveeveryone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occuring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
  8. Show jumping classes will be run under the Rules of the British Show Jumping Association.

TIMINGS

  1. Course walk commences at 0815 hrs, first competitor at approx 0900hrs prompt. In the first class the riders will compete in a drawn order, which will be displayed in the Steward's  Tent by 1800hrs on the previous day.
  2. Class C will not start before 1330 hours.
